So, my wonderful people, guess which two stories have been nominated for awards? The Pendant and The List! Needless to say, I'm excited. This would be my first nomination and, even though I probably won't get it (the competition is fierce), being nominated is still such an honor.
The List has been nominated for the Eddie Award—best Edward in a story. The Pendant has been nominated for the Blast From The Past Award—best story that takes place in the past. I have no idea who nominated me, but I am so grateful to whomever it was!
Anyway, I'd appreciate your votes! So here's the link: http://bringmetolifeawards.weebly.com/index.html

Carlisle & Esme's House From "The List"
To help me get a clearer picture of Carlisle and Esme's house, I found a few pictures of the rooms Bella saw:
Carlisle's Office (in darker woods w/a recliner in place of the plant by the window)
The Dining Room
The Living Room

New Fan Fic Preview: Always In The Shadows by always-penombra
A sneak preview at one of my upcoming stories: Always In The Shadows.
Summary:
So she has a stalker. But for Bella Swan, it’s always been more a nuisance than a problem—especially with Edward, who, despite the constant invasion of her privacy, really seems to care for her. During troubling times, he's always there, always waiting to lend a shoulder for her to cry on.
But then there's Jacob—an old flame she happens to run into right around the time her feelings for Edward start to make their appearance.
Ha. That's all you get, for now. :)
The Pendant
So, I have this habit: I often start fanfiction stories on complete impulse. When the idea hits me, I start writing. That's how my first 2 stories (Bella's Mistake & Leaving Forks) came along, and, though they were enlightening experiences and definitely fun to write, they aren't my proudest moments as a writer.
I tried to break this habit with The List, and I've done very well, knowing exactly how the story is going to play out. It's been my first all-human story, and also interesting to write. I'm falling in love with the plot.
But, then something happened: I was sitting at my computer, looking through some jewelry with nothing else to do, and I saw a beautiful sapphire pink pendant. BAM! I was hit with an onslaught of ideas regarding this pendant, and what mysteries it could hold. Somewhere along the way, Bella's world got into my mind, and it became a fan fiction story.
So I wrote the prologue. As I did, the whole story unfolded before my eyes, and it was pretty amazing, so I jumped into it. It's my first attempt at the third-person point of view, and I really do happen to like it. I'm excited for this story, but also nervous since I kind of broke this new, healthier way to create stories that wouldn't flop.
I've never been one to get thousands of reviews for a story, but I am really happily surprised at how many people are already interested in it. Now I'm stuck trying to decide which story is really my 'baby': The List or The Pendant. Guess I'll just keeping writing both, and find out!
By the way, here's a picture of the pendant as I've seen it in my mind, or at least partially:

Recommendation Of The Month: Bella Swan:Kidnapper by Kambria Rain
Yes, I've changed it to recommendation of the month, because I can't seem to do this weekly. Oh well.
Anyway, I'm not going to launch into a huge criticism on this story like I did the the last one, or go overboard on the summary. I am going to tell you that this story—Bella Swan: Kidnapper by Kambria Rain—is both a heart-warming romance, and hilariously funny. I swear, I was on an emotional roller coaster with all the laughing, then crying I was doing. The author's summary of this story was so eye-catching: Um. Hi. I don't really know how to say this, but I have your kids with me, and I was thinking maybe you would like them back. So yeah… call me.
I was immediately intrigued, and my curiosity definitely paid off. Bella Swan's being a single mother to a son she named Leonardo (Leo) has definitely changed her from the stereotypical softie we've come to know. She's one tough cookie, folks, even being nicknamed "Bella the Beast" when she tackles a boy's mother for cheering on her son when he tackled Leo during football. So, naturally, when she "kidnaps" Edward's children—Ethan and Sophie—she's doing it on pure, motherly instinct, seeing them being treated appallingly by their father's girlfriend.
Anyway, once Edward catches up enough to realize Bella's good intention—and that she's not some psycho trying to take his children—it becomes a running joke between his family and hers, and only the beginning of the insane romance about to befall the two as they slowly realize how much they need one another, not just for their children's sakes, but for their own.
And its almost 6,000 reviews speaks for itself.
