Too Many Ideas!

Ahh! I've been bombarded with excellent ideas for fan fics, and I already had two in-waiting for when I've finished The List and The Pendant! I started one of them—Candlelight Dating Service—which is a series of dates through the Candlelight Dating Service where random and unexpected pairings of Twilight characters meet. It's fun to write, for sure, but now I'm in the process of writing four stories (not sure if my Kidnapped Texts series counts, as it's not a full story. . .) and developing three, four, six—Too many other stories! I mean, geesh.
Sorry—just had to vent. I posted one of the many new ideas I've gotten as an upcoming story on my Fanfiction.net profile. It's called Taken To War, and the MC (main character) is Renesmee. It takes place about ten years after Breaking Dawn. I'm actually shifting between titles, but that's the one I've got for now. I'll post an official summary on here in a little while. For now, I'm through venting and off to aid the youth of our nation!

The Curse of Fan Fiction

As simply amazing as fan fiction can be, I've recently discovered it comes with a price. One word: character. Even though I'm right in the middle of several fan fictions, I got an idea for a novel that just couldn't wait. I started writing. Now, tell me if this sounds familiar: my main character Natalie, who preferred to go by "Nat", is a seventeen-year-old girl who feels out of place where she has recently moved. She's clumsy and sarcastic. She has brown hair. . . Blah, blah, blah. It wasn't until much later that I realized my main character was not Natalie; it was Bella Swan. Unfortunately, I do the same thing to my guys with Edward. They all become mysterious, polite, well-spoken, and virtuoso. The good news? Now that I've realized this, (and vented about it. . .) I've been paying more attention to detail and character. I've changed my main character completely, but I've found she's who needs to tell the story. So maybe the "curse" wasn't so bad.
